What Should I Do in the Case of a Dental Emergency?
Dental emergencies can happen when you least expect them, and prompt care is essential to prevent further complications. If you are experiencing a dental emergency (such as a severe toothache, broken tooth, lost filling or crown, or injury to your gums or mouth) contact our office immediately. Our skilled and compassionate dental team is here to help! We prioritize emergency cases and will schedule an appointment for you as soon as possible to relieve your pain and address the issue effectively!
Welcome to Signature Smiles Dental Studio – where your smile is our masterpiece! We’re honored that you’ve chosen us for your dental care, and we’re committed to making your first visit as comfortable and informative as possible.
 
During your initial appointment, you’ll receive a Comprehensive Oral Examination with Dr. Jeelani. This includes:
 
  • A sit-down discussion with Dr. Jeelani to review radiographs or intraoral photos, and create a treatment plan
  • A full extraoral and intraoral examination
  • Dental X-rays and imaging
  • A thorough periodontal (gum) health assessment
This exam typically takes 30 to 60 minutes, during which Dr. AJ will discuss any findings, answer your questions, and develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs. We will also recommend how often you should come in for professional cleanings to maintain optimal oral health. 
 
Please note: This initial exam does not include a dental cleaning. If you’d like to arrange a cleaning during or after your visit, our reception team will be happy to assist you!
At Signature Smiles Dental Studio, we love helping little smiles grow healthy and strong! We recommend bringing your child in for their first dental appointment as soon as their first tooth erupts (typically around 6 months of age).
 

These early visits allow us to:

  • Assess your child’s oral health and development
  • Identify any potential issues early on
  • Provide guidance on home care, nutrition, and teething
  • Answer your questions about your child’s dental milestones
 
Just as importantly, these appointments are a great opportunity to introduce your child to the dental office in a calm, positive, and welcoming environment. Building trust from a young age helps reduce dental anxiety and sets the stage for a lifetime of confident, healthy smiles!

To help us provide the most accurate and efficient care, we encourage you to bring or transfer any recent dental X-Rays from your previous provider before your first appointment with us. Having access to your past imaging allows our team to better understand your dental history and minimize unnecessary repeat exposure. Please note that X-Rays older than 6 months may not accurately reflect your current oral health, as dental conditions can change over time. In some cases, we may need to take updated X-Rays to ensure we have the most current and complete picture of your dental needs. If you need assistance with transferring your records, feel free to contact our office – we’re happy to help make the process easy and seamless!

At Signature Smiles Dental Studio, we understand that navigating dental insurance can be confusing – and we’re here to help! Yes, we do offer direct billing to your insurance provider, as long as your plan allows it. If you are unsure whether your insurance company supports direct billing, or if you have questions about your coverage, please don’t hesitate to contact us before your visit. Our team will do their best to help you understand your benefits and what to expect!
 
We believe in cost transparency – you will never be surprised by hidden fees. Before starting any treatment, we’ll provide a clear explanation of your options and get your informed consent every step of the way!

At Signature Smiles Dental Studio, we are proud to support accessible dental care by accepting the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)!

Please note that while we follow the Ontario Dental Association (ODA) General Practitioner’s Fee Guide for our pricing, the CDCP uses a different fee guide set by the federal government. This means that there may be a difference between our standard fees and what the CDCP covers. Patients using the Canadian Dental Care Plan are responsible for paying the difference between the plan’s coverage and the clinic fee at the time of service. We’re happy to help you understand how the CDCP applies to your treatment plan.
