Are you accepting new patients?
Yes! Our practice has been thriving for over 50 years under the guidance of Dr. Michael Raham, who has now retired and entrusted the practice to Dr. Ayesha Jeelani (Dr. AJ). I’m having a dental emergency, can you help?
Dental emergencies are no fun! We understand that it’s crucial to seek help quickly. We strive to accommodate all emergency situations. Our goal is to get you out of pain as soon as possible. If you experience a dental emergency, such as a toothache, broken tooth, or lost filling, contact our office immediately. We will provide guidance on how to manage the situation and schedule an appointment as soon as possible
Can I bring or transfer X-rays from my previous clinic?
We encourage you to bring or transfer any X-rays from your previous clinic before your first appointment at Signature Smiles. However, please keep in mind that X-rays older than 6 months may not accurately reflect your current dental health. Because oral conditions can evolve, we may need to take new X-rays to ensure your records are current.
What can I expect at my first visit?
Welcome to Signature Smiles Dental Studio, where your smile is our masterpiece. We’re grateful that you’ve chosen us for your dental care. During your first visit, you can expect a Comprehensive Oral Examination with Dr. AJ. This includes both extraoral and intraoral assessments, X-rays, imaging, and a thorough evaluation of your periodontal health. The exam typically lasts between 30 to 60 minutes, during which we will discuss our findings in detail and develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to you, including recommendations for how often you should have your teeth cleaned. Please note that this exam is separate from a dental cleaning, which you can also arrange through our reception team.
If you’re facing an emergency or have a specific issue with a tooth, please reach out to our reception team to schedule an Emergency Exam. This type of appointment will concentrate on the affected tooth and may involve imaging to better assess its health.
If you have dental insurance, we recommend checking with your provider to confirm coverage for our new patient examination before your appointment.
What age should I bring my child in for their first check up?
We recommend bringing your child in as soon as their first teeth erupt. This allows the dentist to assess your child's overall health and dental development. It's also a wonderful opportunity to introduce your child to our team, helping to establish a trusting relationship from an early age.
Do you direct bill to my insurance?
Yes, we direct bill to your insurance. If you’re worried about insurance billing, please call us and we will address all your concerns to the best of our abilities! Let us help you understand your coverage before you in come in. At Signature Smiles Dental Studio, we never want to surprise you with hidden costs. We believe in transparency and will do everything we can to get your informed consent before any treatment is provided.
Prices and Discounts?
We follow the current Ontario Dental Association fee guide. We believe in an honest approach to your dental health care so there will not be any hidden costs. Ask us about prices before your appointment so you are not surprised! Discounts are offered to our patients 65 years and over. If you’re eligible, please notify our lovely reception team.
